I work with food all day in my deli and at home and need a place to store my random thoughts and experiments. I devour and mess with new recipes all the time and wanted a place to store and share these with others. Whenever possible I will state the place I purchased them. I believe very strongly in buying locally, to support small businesses (I am one) but have to admit that sometimes you have to use the super markets as well.

I use the name The Frugal Foodee as this is one of my guiding principles in food. It doesn't mean I condone buying mass produced, poor quality products, rather that I use the cheaper cuts of meat, gnarlier vegetales or uglier fish that need a bit more work. Every part should be used and nothing is ever wasted. Also this is usually the tastiest part when used right. This has all come from the old beliefs that have been passed down from my greatest influence, my mum. It would be great if other people added their own thoughts as well. Feel free to disagree with my opinions and tell me how you would do it differently (I'm not precious.)

Whenever I use a recipe from another chef I will reference them. All recipes are a deviation of an original idea, I'm just adding my own take on them. There will also be some of the more popular recipes from my deli, which me and Matt (business partner) have tweaked  into our own style. These are always to my tastes, you're quite right to disagree. I believe that chilli adds a lot to most dishes and that under-seasoned food is the work of the devil. Also, this is not a diet log, I'll never cut fat out or hold the salt, these things add flavour which is all I'm interested in.

I hope you enjoy some of the recipes and will let me know if I'm way off the mark.
